Pumpkin spice and everything nice, fall is finally here! I’ve been talking quite a bit about how excited I am for autumn this year. I love summer in New York but nothing beats fall. And what better way to celebrate the season than with new nail colors? I’m a fashion girlie who’s always got her nails done.
So, whether it’s a visit to the salon or a home manicure (follow this guide), I always feel more put together with a fresh manicure, and I always like my manicures to highlight the best of the season.
You loved my 12 summer nail colors and trends, so let’s keep it going with the hottest nail colors for fall 2023. I’ve already shared the top trends we saw walking down the runway (find those here), and now I’m going to turn those trends into nail colors and designs for fall 2023.
Personally, I love Essie’s nail colors. I always find them to be really high quality, smooth and lasting! Because of that, I’ve rounded up my favorite fall nail colors around Essie’s varying shades and types. 10 Fall 2023 Nail Colors & Trends
Plum
Witchy, spooky, and downright mysterious, this purple hue from Essie is the epitome of fall.
This fall we’re seeing a lot of darker neutrals, this post is full of dark browns, jewel tones, and latte nails. What better way to combine some trends than with a deep jewel-tone plum that has just the slightest hint of brown blended with purple? This color is gorgeous and is sure to compliment all skin tones.
Bright Red
Bright red is having its moment this fall.
We saw it all across runways and we’re seeing it now, across Instagram as a hot nail trend. It’s such a nice pop of color, and while we usually stick with darker, moodier colors for fall, it’s nice to see a bright, bold nail this season. There are not many bright and bold colors for fall this year, but bright red is definitely one of them.
Latte
A latte-inspired shade has been very popular this fall. Whether you prefer iced lattes all year round or you’ve switched to hot and seasonal drinks, you can’t go wrong with a soft brown nail this autumn.
As I said before, we’re seeing a wide range of browns as a popular nail color this season. Whether you’re ready to go bold with dark brown or want something lighter like a latte, there’s bound to be a brown for you this autumn.
Terracotta
It’s no surprise that a lovely orange shade would be trending for fall 2023.
It’s the color of pumpkin pie after all! I wouldn’t normally pick an orange nail, but this orange from Essie is rich and beautiful. If you want to mix it up with a bit of color this season, you can’t go wrong with this unique choice.
Earthy Green
Another slightly more expected color for fall, we’re seeing sage or earthy green popping up. This color pairs well with the season, as we normally appreciate more earth tones this time of year.
Fall 2023 is definitely bringing out a lot of darker colors, but that doesn’t mean you have to go dark. Picking a lovely sage green color can compliment your style and the season.
Nude
I personally love a nude nail. I think it’s one of the more understated colors that looks good on almost anyone. As we’re seeing more earth tones and browns this fall, nude is a great and natural choice.
Navy Blue
Swap out your light blues (that lovely blueberry milk we saw on TikTok this summer) for a deep jewel tone for the season. Another color that shows off our moody, witchy vibes for fall. I love how rich and beautiful this color is.
Dark Brown
A few years ago no girlies were painting their nails dark brown, but the tides have definitely changed and more and more fashion babes are pulling out the various shades of brown – especially for fall.
I personally think you need to be a bit more careful with a deep brown, and make sure that you pick a shade that compliments your skin tone.
Yummy Yellows
Yellow is another surprisingly bright color that made its way into fall trends this year.
Essie shared some of their favorite yummy shades of yellow for fall, but I personally loved this lighter color. I do love that yellow is trending this fall. It’s a fun way to add a pop of color to your routine as the days get shorter and darker.
Deep Green
I’m really seeing a lot of jewel tones this fall and I love it! They’re all so witchy and gorgeous.
Deep, full shades that really match the changing season. If you want to experiment with a darker color, but you don’t want to fall back on black, I recommend a nice deep green for autumn this year.
With fall fast approaching, I’m definitely looking forward to new trends, styles, and colors to experiment with. Whether you’re looking for bright colors or earthy tones this fall, there’s bound to be something for everyone.
