Quiet luxury is a recent trend that I have fallen in love with. It’s not really a new trend, but instead a new name for a fashion style that’s been around forever.

People have been searching for ways to make their wardrobe and style more classically chic and effortlessly luxurious for years, and at the end of the day, that’s what Quiet Luxury is all about.

How do you Create a Quiet Luxury Spring Capsule Wardrobe?

If you’re new to my blog, I want to start by telling you why I love capsule wardrobes. A capsule wardrobe takes all of the decision fatigue out of getting ready – and it helps you put together beautiful outfits every day. It’s about creating a wardrobe full of pieces that work together and that work for you. 

I want to help you build the ultimate ‘classic capsule wardrobe’. My goal is to help you build your confidence and personal style, while also making sure that you don’t get overwhelmed by fast-fashion trends. Overtime I’ll also help you save money, because instead of chasing each new trend, you’ll know that you’ve already invested in the quality of your closet. 

At the end of the day, a classic wardrobe emphasizes quality over quantity. Quiet Luxury is a trend that also emphasizes quality over quantity. Building Your Quiet Luxury Spring Capsule Wardrobe

Spring is a tricky season to dress for. The days are getting longer and warmer, which means you want to trade your winter coats for summer dresses, but the mornings and evenings can still be cold and occasionally it still snows! 

The key to dressing in spring is layers. 

Jackets, scarves and sweaters that can be layered to keep you warm on the way to and from work, but t-shirts and short sleeve blouses that can be worn on their own during your sunny lunch break. I also love layering dresses in the spring and I’ve included a sneaky pair of shorts for warm end of spring days.

This ‘spring-themed’ quiet luxury capsule wardrobe will include plenty of layers and cute choices that you’ll love to wear all year-long. 

Outer Layers

I want to start with your outer layers. I’ve picked chic pieces for layering this season, that don’t break the bank. One thing to remember about quiet luxury, it doesn’t automatically equal expensive. For your quiet luxury spring capsule wardrobe, I decided to add one trench coat (perfect for spring!) and three blazers (essential for any quiet luxury capsule). 

I love this trench coat because it’s a classic, it’ll pair well with everything in your wardrobe and it’s easily dressed up or down. 

I personally own the tan version, and love that it goes with everything! But navy is also a classic choice. Trench coats are perfect for spring because they layer well. For colder days you can add a sweater and a scarf, plus they look great with jeans, trousers and dresses. 

They’re also an iconic wardrobe item that you see on celebrities and in shows like Succession, a show with lots of quiet luxury outfit inspiration. 

I personally believe that every woman should own a black blazer. What I love about this H&M blazer is that it can be dressed up and down, due to the fact that it’s a more ‘relaxed’ fit. You can size up if you like the baggy look, or size down for a more professional fit, but either way this blazer will quickly become a staple for you this spring.

You could layer this jacket with your trench coat, pair it with blue jeans or a black skirt and it would look good each time. This jacket is also perfect for spring, because the gathered sleeve helps you stay warm on cooler days, but avoid being too hot on those days when the sun comes out to shine.

With a beige and navy option, I can promise that you’ll be wearing one of these jackets every day this spring. Pair your beige jacket with floral dresses, straight legged jeans and even white skirts for the perfect ‘quiet luxury’ spring look. 

Tops and Sweaters

Let’s jump into the tops and sweaters that are going to help you build the perfect quiet luxury spring wardrobe. The tops that I’m including in this post are the same ones that you would see in my classic capsule wardrobe guide – because classic wardrobes and quiet luxury wardrobes are looking for the same thing. Quality over quantity. 

For tops, I always tend to choose neutral options that I know are going to go with everything. Every woman needs a classic white top, a button down and a few stylish sweaters. In this quiet luxury capsule wardrobe, you’ll be getting this and more. If you’re looking to add a pop of color, do it with your jewelry, scarves and accessories. 

You’ll absolutely love how flattering it is and it truly goes with everything in your closet! I recommend getting this top in black and white, so you have an option for everyday, every outfit. This is the style of t-shirt that you can pair with jeans, skirts, shorts, you name it!

This shirt gives you the classic boyfriend look that the girls on Gossip Girl rocked. Paired with a blazer, it’s one of the fastest ways to look luxurious without looking overdressed. It’s a shirt with endless opportunities. You can tuck it in, layer it, wear it with a blazer, ect. 

It’s also made of 100% eco silk and fits beautifully. It’s very different from the classic ‘boyfriend’ button down I shared before. This top is polished, relaxed and stylish. I know it’s a top that won’t go out of style anytime soon. 

I specifically chose this sweater in ‘Almond’ because I know it will go with everything else I’ve shared in this quiet luxury spring wardrobe. This alpaca sweater is lighter and softer than wool, making it a great choice for spring. 

Once again, the color goes with everything in this capsule. I also think that a cardigan is a good spring choice because it’s easier to layer. 

Trousers and Jeans

Next up! Trousers and jeans for your quiet luxury spring capsule. Wearing jeans with sweaters and blazers is one of the easiest ways to nail the ‘quiet luxury’ trend. As long as you have the right jeans of course. One thing you’ll notice about my choices here is that there are no rips, and I’ve gone for more relaxed fits. 

The more you start to notice quiet luxury (especially on TV), the more you’ll start to notice people wearing straight leg jeans as opposed to skinny jeans. I’ve also picked out classic trousers that merge style and comfort for spring. 

Trust me babe, you are going to fall in love with these pants. And as an added bonus, they look incredible on us tall girlies. There’s a reason I’m encouraging you to get this same pair of trousers in three colors – one simply won’t be enough! 

For your quiet luxury spring wardrobe, you’re going to want these trousers in white, black and sandstone for endless outfit combinations. Get shopping for my new favorite spring trouser before they sell out of your size. 

Remember earlier when I said denim is classic quiet luxury? Well you have to have the right denim. Luckily for you, I’ve found them. These jeans look incredible with heels, blazers, tops tucked in, boyfriend button downs – essentially everything I’ve included in this capsule wardrobe for you. 

For me, white jeans really convey quiet luxury. They go with everything in your closet and in my opinion they’re just a bit classier than black denim. 

Skirts and Dresses

Normally spring is the season when I start pulling out all of my summer dresses, but in this quiet luxury capsule wardrobe, I’m not going to overwhelm you with too many choices. Instead I’ve picked a classic black dress and a stylish satin skirt. Both are easy to dress up or down with this capsule. 

This jersey bodycon dress is so flattering and beautiful for spring. You can easily add a bright pop of color with your purse, shoes or jewelry and you can layer with scarves, sweaters/cardigans and your trench coat for cooler days.

It looks super cute with everything else included in this capsule, plus with brighter or floral tops that you might already have. 

This skirt is also perfect for travel. It packs light and is easily dressed up or down, depending on whether you’re spending the day at the beach or a nice dinner out. 

Shorts

Let’s face it… you’re probably not going to be wearing a ton of shorts in spring… I’m including one option for late spring warmer days. Choosing the right shorts for a ‘quiet luxury’ spring look can be difficult! At the end of the day, it’s always a good idea to choose linen. 

They scream quiet luxury and you’ll be loving them on those warmer, end of spring days. Another item that’s also perfect for travel, I know that these shorts will become a staple in your closet. 

Shoes

I’ll be honest, I love shoes. I also think shoes and accessories are the best way to round out your capsule wardrobe. I’ve included three pairs of shoes in this quiet luxury spring capsule… but I could have included even more. What I love about these sneakers is that they’re really comfortable to run around town in, but they don’t look like ‘typical’ tennis shoes. They manage to stay stylish and functional! 

You can wear these everywhere! But they’re an essential part of my work wardrobe. If you don’t already own a pair of loafers, you’ll be thanking me for introducing you to them! 

Now normally I love a good pair of heels, but I’ve chosen to include more subtle and luxurious shoe options in this capsule. One thing to keep in mind when you’re curating a quiet luxury capsule wardrobe is that none of your looks should be ‘over the top.’ That’s why I think one of the best things you can do is keep your shoes simple and classy.

Bags and Accessories

Lastly, I want to talk to you about bags and accessories. The only thing in my life that rivals my shoe obsession is my love of purses. Picking the perfect purses for this quiet luxury spring capsule wardrobe was easy. I picked two purses that are both chic and classic. I’ve also included the sunglasses that I wear everyday, and a couple of belts to help tie your looks together. 

I wear these sunglasses everyday and I don’t think you’ll find a better pair of sunglasses that scream ‘quiet luxury.’

You want chic and classy without being over the top. For that, I usually avoid big ‘over-the-top’ bags.

I also know that Demellier is a brand that encapsulates quiet luxury. They offer an exquisite collection of affordable and luxe handbags.

Another from Demellier (I love this brand). This bag is very stylish, perfect for date night, brunch with the girls or a day spent running around town.

Notice how with both belts I chose to go with a thinner option. A big, bulky belt is a quick way to take you from quiet luxury to over the top.
