Welcome back fashion girlies! In this post, I’m going to be sharing 12 spring wedding guest dresses for every occasion. From vineyard vibes to beach weddings and formal black-tie here in New York City, this guide has something for every dress code.
Wedding dress codes can be confusing! If you need help navigating a dress code, read this post next.

The days are getting longer and warmer! Spring is finally around the corner, but that means so are those weddings you’ve RSVP’d to… and you’ve yet to find the perfect dress.
In my opinion, the best spring wedding guest dresses are brightly colored, feminine and something you’ll wear again! If you’re new around here, I love helping you build a classic wardrobe with pieces you’ll wear time and time again. My favorite thing to do is pick thoughtful pieces that I know you’ll love for years to come.
However, when you’re going to someone else’s wedding, with someone else’s dress code, that can be tricky! Luckily for you, I’ve found 12 spring wedding guest dresses perfect for every occasion. But first, how do you pick the perfect spring wedding guest dress?
Picking a Spring Wedding Guest Dress
Color is everything. Brides always have a specific color scheme in mind for their wedding, and even if you’re not ‘in the wedding’, you should still adhere to that color scheme. She’s going to have a photographer taking photos of all the guests, especially during the ceremony, and you don’t want to stand out.
For spring weddings, I definitely love pastel and bright colors, as well as floral dresses, but for some weddings that just won’t be the theme. For example, if you’re attending a black-tie wedding, a celestial blue floral dress might not be the right choice. In this guide, I’ve picked a range of colors, but I’ve also included some of my favorite floral dresses of the season.

I want to start with your outer layers. I’ve picked chic pieces for layering this season, that don’t break the bank. One thing to remember about quiet luxury, it doesn’t automatically equal expensive. For your quiet luxury spring capsule wardrobe, I decided to add one trench coat (perfect for spring!) and three blazers (essential for any quiet luxury capsule).
Vineyard Vibes
The Hattie Gown from Lovers and Friends is the perfect spring wedding guest dress. I know, I’m starting strong with this one!

I love the green for an outdoor, vineyard wedding – and the boned bodice is absolutely beautiful. Imagine wandering around a vineyard, glass of wine in hand, while your bestie gets married. (You can picture it right?) It’s also a great spring dress that you’ll want to wear again.
Garden Party
The Astrid dress from Elliatt is a stunning wedding guest dress for a garden wedding.

It’s lightweight but still warm enough to be outdoors in spring, and the floral pattern is elegant and understated. I know that you’ll match any bride’s colors with this one, and it can be dressed down for brunch with the girls or dressed up for a dinner date.
Countryside Romance
The Megan Maxi dress from Bronx and Banco really screams countryside romance.

It’s a gorgeous dress, fits well in the quiet luxury trend and would look beautiful at a wedding on a ranch, or in the countryside of Tuscany. This dress is chic and would be sure to turn heads wherever you wear it. I personally hope I get invited to a Southern California Ranch wedding just so I can wear this dress.
Cocktail
The Capri Diamonte Slip Dress reminds me of the beautiful dress that Kate Hudson wore in ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’.

It’s a great color for spring and would be perfect for a cocktail party wedding. Something elegant but understated, where you want to look beautiful, but not overdressed. Plus this is definitely a dress to be worn again and again.
Daytime Semi-Formal
I picked the Diana Gown for our daytime semi-formal spring wedding because it’s simply stunning.

The celestial blue is perfect for spring and the fit and style of this dress would be flattering on anyone. Plus it’s a great daytime dress that can be dressed up for an evening out.
All About Fabulous
In other words, the wedding that you’ve been waiting all year for!

This is the wedding that you know is going to be over-the-top and fantastic. For this wedding, you need something stunning to wear. Look no further than the Doss Dress from Retrofete. Champagne gold is everything you need for that all out fabulous wedding.
Nautical
For this nautical spring wedding, I didn’t want to go with a cliche ‘blue-and-white stripes ensemble’.

Instead, I stuck within the color scheme and found something beautifully spring as well. The Fiorenza midi dress is an excellent spring wedding guest dress, but you’ll also find yourself packing it for your vacation to Capri or your evening in the South of France. This is a must-have!
Beach Wedding
You might not immediately think of a floor length dress for a beach wedding, but when I saw the Cherri Gown from Amanda Uprichard, I knew I’d found a terrific dress.

The color will be a great compliment to the overall theme and this dress is simple, yet chic. I also love the high slit, it’s super flattering for us tall girlies!
City Elegance
For an elegant spring wedding in the city, I decided to pick something richer.

Blue is a color I’m loving for spring (if you hadn’t already noticed!) But for a city wedding, I wanted to steer away from pastels and into a more deep blue. When I found the Preston dress in Egyptian blue, I knew I’d found the one! I can already imagine this dress at a stunning spring wedding here in New York. A beautiful blend of city elegance and New York style.
Bohemian Floral
A bohemian floral wedding is the perfect wedding for spring!

And finding the right dress for this one was easy. You want something understated and simple. This dress is definitely one you’ll wear again and again as well! I love the cutouts and high slit. This is a classic spring wedding guest dress and honestly, a must-have travel dress as well.
Rustic Chic
Sometimes you don’t want to wear a floor length dress, especially because they can be the hardest dresses to ‘rewear’.

So if the wedding dress code allows for it, go with a slightly shorter option! What I love about this dress from Dress the Population is that the slip dress underneath is shorter, but the lace actually dresses it up. The embroidery and color of this dress would look beautiful at a rustic chic spring wedding.
Formal Black-Tie
If you’re attending a formal black-tie wedding this spring, then I’m not even going to worry about the ‘spring’ element.

Instead, I’ve found a beautiful black-tie wedding guest dress. This dress screams ‘quiet luxury’ with the perfect touch of chic and elegant. A little bit harder to wear again… but a flawless dress for a black-tie wedding.
Bonus: The Perfect Spring Wedding Guest Bag
I am all about accessories and I love helping you find the perfect purse.

When I saw this clutch from Olga Berg, I knew I had to share it with you. I honestly think this bag would make a beautiful accessory with any of these dresses. The best accompaniment for your spring wedding guest ensemble. It’ll help dress up simpler looks, or perfectly compliment fancier settings.
Are you attending a wedding this spring? What’s the dress code?! I hope that this guide has helped you find the perfect dress, no matter the setting. There are definitely some dresses on this list that make me want to be invited to a wedding… just so I can show them off!
I personally love getting dressed up and going all out for a wedding like this, but I also know that it’s important to find dresses you’ll wear again and again! If you’d like my help creating the perfect classic capsule wardrobe, so you always have something to wear, download my free guide here.
